Zula S.
Mcneil
Dec 19, 1937 — Dec 10, 2024
Zula S. McNeil was born on December 19, 1937, in New Madrid, MO to Jake W. Jackson & Thomasina Parrot. The family moved to East St. Louis in 1940. She confessed a hope in Christ as a young lady and later united with Mt. Pisgah Church in 2024.
Zula united in holy matrimony to Victor McNeil in 1965. Zula did a lot to help people in need. She is preceded in death by her son, Wayne McNeil; her granddaughter, LaShay McNeil; her mother, Thomasina Parrot; her father, Jake W. Jackson; three brothers, Johnnie Green, Andrew Jackson, and Jake W. Jackson, Jr.; three sisters, Edna Holman, Colen Jackson, and Hester Patrick.
Zula departed this life on December 10, 2024. She leave to cherish her memory five children, April (Carl) Spraggins, Reginald (Vickie) McNeil, Anthony (Samantha) McNeil, Regina McNeil, Esther (Ronald) McNeil, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a Mother to many. Zula never met a stranger, she was a friends, she lived a great life, and when they counted her out, God said, "Not my child." Zula was the matriarch of the family, and she will be missed by many.
Mrs. Zula McNeil was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed. She was that kind of woman. The tears won't stop flowing. We know you're in a better place now, and we will continue to cherish your memories as our mother and friend. Heaven had gained a beautiful angel, and we do know that the scripture states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord". 2 Corinthians 5: 8, so our angel continue to watch over us as we start this journey without you." Gone, but never forgotten. Get your rest, Momma.
