Yvonne Hopkins was born on August 11, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Benjamin Franklin and Ethel Hudson, who preceded her in death. She confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age.
Yvonne was a faithful member of Impact Church, STL for many years where Pastor Ron A. Young is the pastor.
For ten years, Yvonne and her dear husband owned and operated Jasmine Inn, a Chinese restaurant that was located in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was also employed by McDonnell Douglas, General Motors, and retired from Allied Healthcare Products on October 1, 2009.
Yvonne loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, playing games "Deuces", and being fashionable in her leopard print!
Yvonne departed this life on March 29, 2026. She is survived by her loving and supportive husband of 62 years, Dexter Hopkins; her daughter, Danyaal Hopkins; two grandsons, Darryl and Daniel Joiner; sister, Arnita (Clifford Dean) Cartwright. She was preceded in death by her brother, Willie L. "Doug" Hudson, Frazier "Freebee" Hudson, and Paul "Pookie" Hudson. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
