Obituary

Willie Rushing was born on September 26, 1933 in Carthage, Mississippi to the union of Albert and Thelma Rushing. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, uniting with Pilgrim Green Baptist Church. He received his formal education in East St. Louis School District 189.

Willie served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.

Willie was affectionately known as "Stew B." to his family and friends. Stew B. loved his family and was always the life of the family gatherings. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

Willie worked as a mechanic at Lou Fusz for many years until his retirement. You could find him under the hoods of his family members' cars in his spare time. It was always said that if Stew B. can't fix it, it can't be fixed.

Willie was proceeded in death by his mother and father, three brothers, Joseph, Willie B, and Albert Lee; five sisters, Alberta, Thelma, Betty, Annie, and Freddie Lee.

Willie departed this life on February 8, 2021 . He leaves to cherish his loving memory his son, Raynell Rushing; daughter Angela Rushing; sister Christine Holmes; brother Leroy Rushing, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
