Willie Dones was born on May 27, 1941, and departed this life on March 6, 2026. He was a strong and firm man, the kind who did not often show his emotions openly, yet his love for his family was never in doubt. Behind his steady presence was a man with a great laugh, a huge smile, and a heart deeply devoted to his sons.

Willie was selfless, protective, and deeply proud of the men his boys became. He believed in raising strong sons who could stand up for themselves, often reminding them, "You're not going to be no punk." He was very much a man of his time --- steady, disciplined, and committed to preparing his children for the world!

Though he did not always express his feelings in words, his actions spoke clearly. His love was shown in how he protected, guided, and stood firmly for his family. He carried great pride in his sons and in the life he helped shape for those around him.

Mr. Willie Dones, beloved husband to Hildred and father of Mareo and Montez, was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious and Leana Dones; three sisters, Ruby Canada, Daisy Hairston, and Dorothy Mitchell; and four brothers, Maine, Charles, Martin, and Odis Dones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his forever wife, Hildred; his sons, Mareo (and his daughter Destiny) and Montex (and his son Montrell); two sisters, Rosie Washington and Mary (Mozell) Chaney; his brother Lucious (Ida) Dones II; two sisters-in-law, Ramona Dones and Annie Dones; a  host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Mr. Willie Dones will be remembered as a man of strength, conviction, and quiet love. Though his earthly journey has ended, the values he lived by and the strength he poured into his family will continue for generations to come.

His strength became our foundation, his love our legacy, and his memory will forever live in our hearts.
