The Obituary

I was not, I was, I am not again!

I tried to live my very best,

I labored for the Lord while I was here

And now I've just gone on to take my rest.

Lift up your heads, your heart to Him,

For He is the One Who's in control,

Whisper a prayer and trust Him,

Make Him the Captain of your soul!

I tried to say all I could say,

To write all that I could write

So you would know when this day would come

That God and I are just alright.

He gave me life, He let me live,

And on earth, He let me roam

Here and there with all of you,

And now He's called me home.

Do not weep, shed no tear for me,

Just remember I passed by,

I tried to touch your life in a positive way

Before I had to say, "Good-bye!"

So remember whatever good you can

Of the things I did and said

And think of me finding life anew—

Don't think of me as dead.

I pray that God will be with you;

Know that my prayer is real

And always know I loved you true!
