Vernice Marcia Graves was born on June 23, 1962 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Lawrence Graves and Carol Ann Davenport. Vernice moved to East St. Louis, IL in 1993 but became a Belleville resident when she purchased her new home in May 2015. After graduating from high school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2000 and in 2010 she earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. This year on May 28, Vernice celebrated 27 years of sobriety. Vernice departed this life on August 14, 2020. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her sisters Mary Graves and LaWanda Davenport: her brothers James (Jenny) Davenport and Darrell (Monica) Davenport; her aunts Carylen Knox- Jones and Bernetta Brown; her best friend Juanita Bradley and many more special friends dear to her heart along her entire sobriety family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
