Obituary

Ursula LeVada Jones, 91, affectionately known as "Big Mama", quietly passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her
home in Bellevue, Washington. She was born on December 2, 1927 in the township of Centerville, Illinois to the late Clearance and Margaret (Thompson) Williams.  Mother Jones grew up in Centerville and attended Lovejoy High School. She began working for the United States
shipyard in Bremerton, Washington (outside of Seattle) supporting our troops during World War II, where she worked for 3 years. After her return to East St. Louis, she met and married the love of her life, Jack Jones. This union spanned 58+years before Jack went on to be with the Lord in 2004.


Mother Jones was a long-time member of Full Gospel Church of God in Christ in Centerville prior to moving to Texas where she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas and most recently became a member of Churchome in Kirkland, Washington. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Jones; brothers Clarence Williams, Jr., Emmett Williams, Frederick Williams, Charles Williams and Howard Williams; sisters Arlena Williams, Thelma Brown, Margaret Suggs, Clara Brown, and Juanita May. She was also preceded in death by her two sons Roderick Jones and Eric Jones.
