Obituary

Mrs. Trebia R. Jones was born on November 27, 1968 in East Saint Louis, Illinois to parents Doretha J. Harris and Charles Lewis Jr.

Trebia passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2024, after suffering a cardiovascular accident. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Lewis Sr., her maternal grandparents Marion Sr. and Jodie Harris; uncles, Melin Harris, Naccoma Harris, Gerald Harris, Phillip Harris; aunt, Diane Harris and her cousin Antonio Little.

Trebia confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Norman E. Owens Sr. As a young member, she was active in the choir and enjoyed attending vacation bible school during the summers.

Trebia was educated in the East Saint Louis public school system, and she was a graduate of Lincoln Senior High School's Class of 1986 where she was an active member of the pep club. Trebia attended The Academy of Beauty and Culture in Belleville, Illinois to perfect her passion for cosmetology and makeup application. Trebia later pursued her childcare provider and nursing assistant certifications, which led to employment opportunities at Leslie Bates Davis Daycare Center and Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital in East Saint Louis. Until her sudden death, she worked for First Student Inc as a bus monitor in the Belleville Public School District.

Trebia's life was anchored in her family. She was more than a cousin to Patresa and Robin. She was a friend, a confidant, and their partner in crime. They shared a bond that was as profound as it was unique. She relished her role as grandmother, as much, if not more, than she delighted in raising her only child Tiffany Marie. She made it to a point to be as engaged as possible, showering love and attention on her three granddaughters, Kordlyn, Reign, and Kasch. She was kind, funny, and filled with gratitude. She left an indeliable mark on her entire family. Her legacy of love and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those she leaves behind. We will remember her radiant smile, infectious laughter, her warm hugs, and the countless moments of joy and happiness she shared throughout her life.

Trebia is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Johnson; three granddaughters, Kordlyn, Reign, and Kasch Minor; mother, Doretha J. Harris; aunts, Mary (Johnnie) Spencer and Marian Henrietta Harris; uncle, Marion (Peggy) Harris; sister, Cassandra Lewis-Larry; brothers, Anthony Lewis, Emil Darnell Lewis, Brandon Charles Lewis, and Charles Ryan Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that were very special to her. She will forever be remembered as the person who enriched our lives with her presence, her love, and her indomitable spirit.
