Tony Rushing Sr. was born on December 4, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland to the union of Willie Rushing and Lovie M. Johnson. He moved to East Saint Louis, Illinois in 1971 and was baptized at Lily Hill Baptist Church.

Tony departed this life on January 9, 2026. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Toni Rushing; three grandchildren, Shauwn, Javauhn, and Anastasia; his son, Tony Rushing Jr. (Tempettest); his daughters, Tiffany Rushing and Precious Love; his siblings, Willie Rushing, Fredrick Rushing (Alma), Donald Rushing (Lydia), and Perry Rushing Sr.; his sister, Stella Williams (Lonnie), and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
