Obituary

Tommie (Stan) Lee Stainback was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on November 26, 1925 to Charlie Stainback and Pattie Miller. Both parents preceded him in death. At a young age, Tommie's family moved to Madison, Illinois, where he grew up on the Island. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Endia Stainback, his children, Charlie Stainback, Mary Lou Savage, Clifford Stainback and Renee Stainback.

After completing his education, Tommie worked for various companies, until he was hired at American Steel Foundry in Granite City, Illinois. He remained employed there, until he retired. Tommie enjoyed junking and running his pool hall in East St. Louis. He loved animals, especially his dog, "Foots". Tommie was always making others laugh by saying little phrases and sayings. We all know he was a ladies man. Tommie was proud of all of his children. His favorite food was "Church's Chicken."

The last few years of his life, Tommie resided at Caseyville Rehab and Nursing Home in Caseyville, Illinois. But on November 16, the Lord saw fit to change his residence for the last time. He leaves behind to cherish his memory 10 children, Jeanette Harris of Texas, Kathleen (Vontrell) Miller of Alton, IL, Tommie Lee (Ollie) Stainback of Shipman, IL, Abrelia Moody of Madison, IL, Patrick Stainback of Dallas, TX, Stephanie Stainback of Oregon, Ramona (Vinson) McNamee of Belleville, IL, Bernadette Stainback of Belleville, IL, Tyrone Stainback of Mt. Sterling, IL and Stacey Stainback of Cahokia, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
