Theotric W. Jackson, Sr. was born on September 10, 1947 in the John Robinson Homes in East St. Louis, IL to the union of Fred and Willie Jackson. He was preceded in death by both parents, Fred and Willie Jackson; six brothers, Oscar Jackson, Fred Jackson, Sylvester Jackson, Willie Edward Jackson, James Jackson, and Charlie Jackson; six sisters, Ethel Mae Jackson, Earlene Jackson, Claretha Jackson, Ada B. Jackson, Bertha Jackson Hudson, and Cora Jackson Rush; one grandchild, Maurkeysha Belk.
Theotric received his education in East St. Louis School District 189. He grew up attending Rock Jr. High School and East St. Louis Sr. High School. Theotric had a special love for football, and was a member of Rock Jr. High School football team. He also loved baseball, boxing, track and field, but the love of his life and most treasured sport was Golf. He received many trophies playing Golf at Grand Marais State Park, the Metro East Area and St. Louis, MO. Theotric also had a passion to become a business owner. He was owner and operator of Jackson's Package Liquor, Guys and Gals and last but not least, The News Room. "Jack" as his friends called him was certainly an asset to the community.
Theotric , on October 25, 1973 , married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ewing, and to this bond they shared three beautiful children Carmen Karmel Jackson, Theotric W. Jackson, Jr. and Tonia LaNease Jackson.
Theotric confessed a hope in Christ and attended many churches throughout his life. Theotric worked at McDonnell Douglas, which name was later changed to Boeing Company. He spent 40 plus years there and looked forward to his retirement, what a glorious day that was...all smiles!! While working for Boeing, through the years, Theotric received many awards for his outstanding service to the company. Theotric, in his own way, was an extraordinary man who shared a loving personality with all he came in contact with. He never met a stranger. He always lit up the room with his sense of humor.
Theotric served in the United States Army working in transportation from 1967 to August 1969. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal.
Theotric W. Jackson, Sr, leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and faithful wife of 52 years, Mary Ewing Jackson; two sons, GMaurice (Selena) Belk-Jackson of Columbia, IL and Theotric W. Jackson, Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL; two daughters, Carmen Jackson of Cahokia, IL and Tonia Jackson of Belleville, IL, nine grandchildren, Trevion Jackson of St. Louis, MO, Tamejeai Jackson of Belleville, IL, Jaszmyne (Lavar) McKenzie of Little Rock, AR, Jamorian Jackson of Belleville, IL, Taylor Jackson of St. Louis, MO, Brittany Harvey of St. Louis, MO, Maurche Belk of Belleville, IL, Mashele Belk of Chicago, IL, and Mark (Eseta) Carter of Denver, CO; one great-grandchild, Sebastian Faulkner of Little Rock, AR; one sister, Lucille Jackson Miller of Swansea, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
