Tersem Jeto Hudlin, (nee Manhas) 85, a longtime resident of East St. Louis, IL, departed this life on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born March 27, 1931, in Punjab, India, the daughter of the late Ujagar Singh and Durgi Kaur Manhas.
Jeto grew up in Victoria, British Columbia. She relocated to Centerville, Illinois in 1953, upon her marriage to Russell Hudlin. Jeto worked side by side with Russell for nearly 30 years at their family business, Hudlin Pharmacy, in Centerville and East St. Louis.
She enjoyed working for the Illinois Department of Human Services, where she spent many years serving her community. After her retirement, Jeto loved spending time with family and friends, and pursued her many hobbies, including gardening, quilting, knitting, and cooking. She loved watching her favorite sports team, the St. Louis Blues. Jeto will be remembered for her devotion and support to her children and, grandchildren and for her kind and giving heart.
In addition to her parents, Jeto was preceded in death by her beloved husband Russell, her son, Russell Jr.; three brothers: Sarban, Frank, and Googie Manhas, and one sister, Charney Arnel.
Jeto is survived by her son Gerald (Ella) Hudlin of Edwardsville, Illinois; her daughter, Kathy Hudlin of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Her Sister, Jaswant (Sarabjit) Ghandi, and brother Bunt Manhas, both of Victoria, B.C.; Her Grandchildren: Darrell Conner; Shaadi Shoubaki, Audrey Hudlin; and a great granddaughter, Cierra Mitchell; and many wonderful Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Sister-In-laws, Brother-In-Laws and special friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Eden Village Retirement Center and Anderson Hospital for their special care and support. A private memorial service for family and friends is planned.
