Obituary

With a pure heart and a tenacious spirit, Taejon Hudson was born the eldest of 6 children, to the late Robert and Betty Jean (nee Horton) Hudson on November 11, 1956. Initially attending Andrean Catholic High School in Merrillville, Indiana she migrated back to St. Louis, MO and graduated with honors from Soldan International Studies High School and went on to take courses at St. Louis University.

Despite losing her mother at a young age, Taejon possessed innate intelligence and blossomed into the witty, fun-loving, joyous woman that everyone knew her to be.  Professionally, she demonstrated unmatched versatility by serving as an Administrative Assistant, dedicated Healthcare Specialist, and even a PBX operator over the years. Personally, she was known to be a true diva and the natural life of the party. Her million-dollar smile, radiant personality and undeniable beauty not only earned Taejon the regional title of first runner up for the Ms. Teenage America Pageant, but the hearts of everyone she encountered as well. She found optimism in the darkest times through something as simple as applying her favorite hue of lipstick. There wasn't anything that could keep her down; there was nothing she couldn't overcome.

Taejon is survived by her 3 daughters, Tia Hudson-Johnson, Tiara Hudson Johnson, and Amanda Ricketts; godmother and aunt, Evelyn Reaves; granddaughters, Paisley Venezia & Harper Ricketts; siblings, Deverick Hudson, Betty Johnson, Evette Colston, Ywanzia Ralleigh; nieces and nephews, David (Arionna) Ralleigh Jr., Keith (Andreea) Bailey; Tiffany Colston, Jeremy (Ashle) Harris and Aaron J. Johnson; godson, DP Word; daughters in love, Tiffany, Tazia and Tomiaka Corley; longtime companion, Brupsy Corley Jr. and a host of cousins, family and friends.

In addition to her mother and father, Taejon was preceded in death by her son, Levi Ricketts; sister, Francine Bailey; and her great-aunt & guardian, Hazel Jones.
