Shirley Morrison was born on April 26, 1955 in Tallahatchie, Mississippi to the union of Beulah Williams and Herman Boyd.  At an early age she confessed a hope in Christ. Shirley received her education in Chicago, at Cooley High School and receiving an Associates Degree from Metropolitan Community College in East St. Louis and becoming a CNA.

She moved to East St. Louis, IL in 1976.  She loved her family and spending time at family gatherings.  She was given the term of endearment as "Lil Bit".

Shirley departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2023 in Belleville, Illinois.  She leaves to cherish her memory her son, John Boyd;  her daughter, Nicole (Terry) Hill;  grandchildren, Le'Ka'le Darden, Le'Mar Gully, Felicia Boyd, Arreina Thomas and Ny'La Hill;  numerous other relatives and friends.
