Sheresa Barnett was born on December 20, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Lawrence E. Jones and Carolyn Barnett. She was a lifelong resident of the area moving from St. Louis, Mo to East St. Louis, Il in 1973.

Sheresa accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, when she was 10 and united with St. Matthews Baptist Church. Her educational journey was through School District #189, and graduating from East St. Louis Senior High School. To further her education, she attended Bits N Bytes Training Institute in Belleville, Illinois.

Sheresa loved her family and spending time with them. She also loved taking care of children, hence she was self-employed as a childcare provider.

On Wednesday night, January 18, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri with family gathered round, Sheresa answered her Master's call.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Whitney Holman; mother, Carolyn Barnett; father, Lawrence E. Jones; two brothers, Lawrence Barnett and Travis Jones; three sisters, Constance Burke, Sherence Sathekge and Sonya Reid; grandmothers, Delores Freeman and Gencie Perkins; best friend, Tangela Whire; loving boyfriend, Carl Boyd; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
