Shayvion Darnishia Edmond entered the world as a cherished blessing from God on May 8, 1989 . Weighing in at 5 pounds and 3/4 of an ounce, she embarked on a vibrant life journey, embracing roles as a beloved child, wife, mother, friend, and above all else, a believer in her faith after being baptized at New Bethel Baptist Church by the late Pastor Myron Taylor.
Educated within the Granite City School District, Shay was an active participant in various school activities, including the drama club, talent shows, and member of the track team. She graduated in 2007, advancing her education to earn a degree as a Medical Assistant from Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC), and subsequently became certified childcare worker. Shay exemplified versatility, often balancing multiple roles with skill and dedication.
On January 14, 2008 , Shay welcomed her first child, and later on April 24, 2021 , she embraced motherhood for a second time with boundless affection. On October 27, 2012 , Shay exchanged vows with Jeremy Crawford, after which the family relocated to Houston, Texas in 2019, striving to provide an improved lifestyle characterized by exceptional quality for her loved ones.
Shay's 35 years of life were rich with meaningful connections. An extroverted spirit, Shay was renowned for her ability to converse with anyone, bringing vitality and warmth to every social gathering. Her passing on March 25, 2025, was akin to a brilliant comet's fleeting journey across the night sky, leaving behind cherished memories.
She is survived by her dedicated husband, Jeremy "Jay" Crawford, loving children, Ja'Nylla Watson and Jaycion Crawford, her parents, Chiffon and Damon Cox, father, George Izeman, her brothers, Demetrius (Chastity) Edmond, Damon (Jackie) Cox, and Damontez Cox, sister, Alexandrea Danyluck, bonus daughters, Jazmyne Craford and Erica Hurst, parents-in-law, Patricia and Marshall Crawford, brothers-in-law, Marshall K. Crawford, Sheldon Crawford, and Corey Crawford, sister-in-law, Marifaith Crawford. Shay also leaves behind her goddaughter, Derrika Gardner along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous family members and friends who cherished her presence.
