Sebastian F.
Boyd
Feb 29, 1964 — Feb 5, 2026
Sebastian Fernendez Boyd was born on February 29, 1964, in East St. Louis, Illinois to Willisteene Boyd and Donell Thomas. A rare leap-year baby, Sebastian's very arrival into this world was marked by God's unique design--a reminder that the Lord sets each of us apart for His purpose and in His perfect timing.
Sebastian was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Willisteene Boyd; his dear sister, Dr. Tamiko M. Youngblood; brother-in-law, Thomas L. Gray; his grandmother, Mary Mae K. Sattlefield (Travier); his grandfathers, Eddie Sattlefield and Willie H. Boyd; his aunts, Virginia Bohanna and Freddie B. Stewart; his uncles, Leroy Boyd and Dwight Boyd; his nephews, Darian Marlow Livingston and Christopher Rivers Jr.
Sebastian accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord Savior at an early age. Sebastian remain faithful to God until the very end.
Sebastian was raised in East St. Louis, where he attended East St. Louis Senior High School. During his high school years, he distinguished himself as a track athlete, embodying the discipline, determination, and competitive spirit that would characterize his approach to life. Sebastian also worked for Schnuck's Bakery Plant for 34 years.
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Lord called Sebastian home to eternal rest in Cahokia, St. Clair County, Illinois. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in the promise of Scripture: "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). Sebastian has traded his earthly race for a heavenly crown, and he now rests in the arms of his Savior.
Sebastian leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Delicia Marie Boyd; children, Ashley Boyd, Simone D. Boyd, Fernandez Boyd, Sebastian F. Boyd Jr., Natalie R. Boyd, Brian L. Williams Jr. and Daylan L. Williams Sr.; numerous grandchildren, father, Donell (Maida) Thomas; father-in-law, Walter Crosby Sr.; siblings, Sherneatha G. Youngblood, Roger (Buffy) Smith Jr., Nanishika K. Smith, Chrystala J. Smith, Cortez A. S.
