Robert Dell Dukes was born on September 1, 1949 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Percy Dukes Sr. and Lena Dukes. Robert confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and again upon his passing. Robert attended Lincoln Senior High School.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Percy Dukes, Sr., brothers, Calvin Garrett Jr., Michael Dukes, and daughters, Melinda Johnson.

Robert was dedicated to working and serving his community. He enjoyed western movies, collected firearms and always dressed sharp. He loved to barbecue snoots and rib tips. Robert enjoyed his life to the fullest with no regrets.

Robert departed this life on November 11, 2024. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Robert Monigan (Gwen), Melinda Johnson, Stephanie Dukes, Dmitri Elbert (Robert), Uri Dukes, Andre Dukes (Linda), Quinton Spiller and Robert Dukes Jr. (Carla), Frederick Dukes, Lee Patrick Dukes (Vanessa), Calvietta Dukes, Carmelita Dukes, Ulysses Dixon, 17 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
