Obituary

Richard E. McKenney was born on a hot summer day of July 27, 1982 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the first born son to Franchelle Cook and Richard McKenney.

Richard was known to be a quiet, calm, laid back, go with the flow, but a loner type of character. Richard enjoyed the simple things in life like hanging out with family and friends, watching late night television shows, and listening to his favorite music such as Bone Thugs & Harmony, Pastor Troy, and Hot Boyz just to name a few.

Richard was loved and adored where he grew up in St. Louis City with his mother whom he cherished with his entire heart, his father, and grandmother Glenda Fields, who also held a special place in his heart. Richard was blessed with a bonus father at eight years old. His step-father, Leslie Terrell, welcomed Richard into his heart, family, and arms with the same love as if he were blood. He shared a lot of upbringing in the East St. Louis, Illinois area as well as St. Louis, Missouri.

Richard was well known from the American Banner Carnival where he worked operating large size amusement park rides and games. This brought excitement and enthusiasm to his life.

Richard dropped a bomb of joy on the family when he welcomed his first born daughter and only child Destiny Stanford into this world, along with her mother Jessica Stanford. Destiny was Richard's reason and purpose for holding on as long as he could.

Richard received an abundance of love from friends and family all over and will be truly missed by his beloved grandmother Glenda Fields; daughter, Destiny Stanford; mother and step-father, Franchelle (Leslie) Terrell; father, Richard McKenney; sisters, Lamonda Terrell, LaToya Gardner, and Rianna McKenney; brothers, Rissan McKenney, Chen Curtis, Lamar Terrell, Lamond Terrell, and Ahman Terrell, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended/distant family and friends.
