Reginald J.
Turner
Apr 1, 1966 — Jan 12, 2024
Reginald J. Turner was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on April 1, 1966 to the union of the late James Otis and Bernice L. Turner. Reginald was the eldest of two children. He was the smartest as he debated so often with his sister, Pamela (Turner) Beverly before his passing. He always would tell her don't let the right hand know what the left hand is doing.
He accepted Christ at a young age at his parents' home church, Pilgrim Temple CME Church in East Saint Louis, Illinois. He was a member of the usher board and choir. He was very active in the church and loved to sing for the Lord. He knew he was anointed by God with his beautiful voice that God gifted him and would always love to entertain with his singing ability.
Reggie attended Assumption Catholic High School in East Saint Louis, Illinois where he graduated with honors in May 1984 and he was in various plays showing his theatrical and animated talent that we grew to love. Many of his classmates fondly remember him as a poet and as well as a competitor with Dungeons and Dragons. His gaming talent was outstanding and another one of his loves.
Reggie went on to further his education in the Fall of 1984 at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri where he majored in IT. He later would transfer to ITT Technical Institute where he would receive his Associate Degree in Informational Technology. Computers were his passion. He was so knowledgeable and loved to be of service to anyone who needed help and listen to his expertise for the love of computers, T.V.'s, radios, whatever. Reggie was a jack of all trades.
Reggie began to live a carefree lifestyle after his employment with One Metropolitan Square and Radio Shack from 1991 - 1999. So many people came to know Reggie because he never knew a stranger. He was fondly nicknamed "Moses" or "Stick Man" because he loved to make sticks (another talent) and would always walk with it for balance as he got older and needed it for stability. He loved people and would make videos to keep them laughing and entertained.
On January 12, 2024, Reggie transitioned peacefully in Fairview Heights, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. Turner and Bernice L. Turner and his nephew, Keith Beverly .
Reggie leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Pamela (Keith) Beverly; his nieces, Chelsea Turner, Indya Billingsley, Skyla Billingsley of St. Louis, MO, Bailey Beverly of O'Fallon, IL; nephew, Chase Beverly of St. Louis, MO; his aunts, Ruby L. Gettis and Lula Jackson; cousins, Billie Turner, Anthony King, Janice (Kenneth) King, Archie Gettis, Ladonna (Larry) Thurston, Sonja Jackson, Keena Jackson, Tracy (John) Nash, Karen Pearson (Curtis) and Charlotte Brown.
