Reba Helena Smith-Burns was born on September 9, 1956 in St. Louis, MO to Charles & Christine (Washington) Smith. Reba Smith-Burns was called from labor to reward on Monday, November 25, 2024, in Genessee County, MI. Reba was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, East St. Louis, Illinois. She later united with The Assembly Bible Church in St. Louis, MO. She was educated in the East St. Louis School system where she graduated with the Class of 1974 and began her secondary education at Southern Illinois College.
Following retirement, she really began to see the world - traveling with her son. Reba had many passions which included serving the Lord, cooking, traveling, taking care of her pet fish, Sam and her turtle. She also loved spending time with her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could always depend on Reba for a full course meal whenever she was around, as well as lots of laughs- typically centered around crazy things that people had said or done.
Reba leaves to cherish her memories, fiance, Larry Tubbs of Flint, MI; son, Reginald (Davidra) Smith of Florissant, MO; 3 brothers, Dexter (Sarita) Smith of Edwardsville, IL, Ronnie N. Smith of San Antonio, TX, and Earl (Stacy) Johnson II of Hannibal, MO; one granddaughter, Reginae C. Smith of Belleville, IL; one grandson, Jeremiah A. Higgins-Cooper of Atlanta, GA; one great-grandson, Khar'i D. "Giggles" Heard; one great-granddaughter, Zoey C. "Little Baby" Heard both of Belleville, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including her church family, The Assembly Bible Church, St. Louis, MO. In Hou, Latonia Potts.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Clemons and Charles Smith; grandparents, Lorenzon & Rebecca McDonald & Ben Washington; brother, Charles Smith Jr.; and sister, Deborah Parker. Reba will be missed and forever loved by all who knew her and she came in contact with.
