Raymond Cason was the sixth of nine children born to the union of the late Benjamin Cason Sr. and Sarah Anderson on July 23, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Raymond began his formative education in East St. Louis School District #189. He continued his education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. Raymond then went on to serve his country in the United States Army.

Raymond married the love of his life, Doris Pearson on November 21, 1954. To this union one daughter was born, Daris Kimberly Cason.

Raymond was an avid golfer and artist with artwork displayed throughout the community including the East St. Louis Public Library and various churches.

Raymond made a lasting impression on every person he met.

Raymond departed this life on June 26, 2021 in Belleville, Illinois. Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Ceola Cason Grimmett; his  parents Benjamin and Sarah Cason; brothers, Thomas Benjamin Cason Jr., Edward Cason Jr., George Cason and sisters Cleoria Cason Stokes, Armee Cason Young and Rita Cason Conrad.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory a loving a devoted wife, Doris N. Cason; one daughter, Daris K. Cason; one granddaughter, Hunter Creola Marie Cason (Roody Graville); three great-grandchildren, Aliyah London Cason Graville, Arabella Nevada Cason Graville and Asia Marie Cason Graville; one sister Yvonne Cason Campbell; one sister in law, Rosena Pearson Glenn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and treasure friends.
