Ramon L. Scruggs was born on April 21, 2009 to Alana Newson at Touchette Regional Hospital. At a very young age, he was diagnosed with a terminal disease: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He was loved by many. As he aged, his interactions at school and home exemplified loved. His teachers and peers lit up every time he came to school. He had a way of making you feel appreciated and always said, "Thank You." if you've done something for him. He always spoke words of love.

Ramon attended James A. Avant Elementary School in his early childhood. He also attended Mason Clark Middle School in his adolescent and teenage years. He had personal elders that grew to know and love him. He used to ride his wheelchair throughout the neighborhood and he was loved throughout the community of Washington Park. He brought joy everywhere he went.

Despite his sickness, Ramon was very strong-minded, strong-willed, and independent. He exemplified kingdomship because he was told he was born royal and people were supposed to take care of him. His demanding ways sometimes showed but he was always respectful.

Ramon departed this life on April 8, 2023 . He leaves behind an older brother, Devin Mosley Jr.; his right hand man, Willie Lee Dowd III; his confidant, Montrell Newson; his argumentative little sister, Alana Newson; his go-get-it brother, Alan Newson, and the eldest of them all as he calls her, his Bry-Bry, GaBryana Woodard, and a host of family and friends that will miss and love him always.
