Patricia A.
Herron
Dec 15, 1949 — Sep 30, 2024
Patricia Ann (Billingsley) Herron was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 15, 1949 to the union of Alther Newman and Thomas Billingsley. She is preceded in death by both parents; sister, Constance Hilliard; brothers, Frank Cruise, Robert Cruise, and Darrel Billingsley; son, Frank "Boompty" Herron and granddaughter, Kia Herron.
Pat confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age while attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and later rededicated her life to Christ in 2008 at Divine Holiness Temple. A committed member of O'Fallon Apostolic Church, she was installed to the Mothers Board in January of 2022.
Pat was educated in East St. Louis, attending Dunbar Elementary, Rock Jr. High and East St. Louis Senior High School. She went on to complete multiple continuing education units at the University of Utah and the University of Iowa in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling, Case Management and Administration. In addition, Pat managed the Sahara Lounge on Missouri Avenue just a short while before coming owner and operator.
Pat's upbringing and strong spiritual influence led to a life of service to others including raising her nephew and nieces (Byron, Annette, Verita and Tanyka) as her own, counseling individuals recovering from alcohol and drug addictions (ADCO), managing and mentoring her direct reports in the commercial cleaning industry (Mitch Murch Maintenance Management), caring for infants and children (Rainbow Station Day Care), and caring for family and friends during their failing health. Pat showed love by being steadfast and serving. Among the many life lessons, she passed on is serving and service.
During her final days , she found it very difficult to allow others to serve her. Whenever family called to check on her, she would say, "I am sitting here looking cute." Another common quip of hers from years past is "I am going to my own self house to mind my own self business."
On September 30 our beloved Pat went to live in THE FATHER'S HOUSE . Pat will be sadly missed by those who cherished her love and strong influence. Daughters: Mrs. Anquinette Herron-Dawson (Homer); Crystal Herron and Kyndria Herron; special friend and close companion, Mr. Hilliard Peterson; siblings: Thomas Williams (Misha), Raydo Perry (Lynette), Senora Brown, Karen Sidqui (Abdur), Wanda Williams, Joyce Moore (Lazeal), and Brenda Ellis. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
