Obituary

Osbin Lumpkin was born on April 21, 1938 in Jonestown, Mississippi to the union of Rev. Joe Lumpkin Sr. and Ms. Hattie Lee Lumpkin. He confessed a hope in Christ at a young age uniting with St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Osbin later moved to East St. Louis on November 3, 2001 .

Osbin graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernadino, California in 1955. Osbin worked tirelessly for a multitude of companies during his time on this earth, John Deer, Abitibi Corporation, and RCA to name a few.

Osbin was always the light in the room. His smile had the ability to put everyone at ease. He was also known for his strong determination at any task. He could also be the best trash talker at the spades table at family events but his presence will truly be missed.

Osbin was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Joe and Hattie Lumpkin, brother, Joe "Little Joe" Lumpkin Jr., and Osbin Lumpkin Jr. and Velita Lumpkin.

Osbin Lumpkin , 84, of Centrevillle, IL departed this life on November 26, 2022 . He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Michael Anthony "Tony" Woods, daughter at heart, Damita Lumpkin, and dearest ex-wife, Clara A. Lumpkin; sisters, Charline Wright and Rosie Lee Scruggs, a host of nieces and nephew as well as friend Ms. Shirley Jeffries.
