Nathaniel
Mosley
Jan 18, 1999 — Mar 1, 2026
Nathaniel Elijah Mosley was born on January 18, 1999 in Belleville, Illinois. Nathaniel had a special place in his heart for pit bulls and was known for the gentle, patient way he cared for them. He enjoyed fixing bikes and had a natural talent for bringing them back to life. He also loved driving--being behind the wheel brought him joy, freedom, and peace. Whether he was taking a ride, working on a bike, or spending time outside with friends, he found happiness in simple moments. More than anything, Nathaniel cherished time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his easy smile, and the way he made people feel seen, supported, and loved. His presence brought comfort, humor, and a sense of togetherness that will be deeply missed.
Nathaniel is survived by his mother, Jameelah Norman, and his stepfather, Shawn Norman, Sr., who lovingly raised him from the time he was six months old. He is also survived by his biological father, Bernard Mosley, Sr. He leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Barbara Ann Mosley, step-grandmother, Theresa Norman, step-grandfather, Andrew Scott, Sr, and his maternal great-grandmother, Darlene Steele-Cline. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jalanda Burns (2008). Nathaniel is survived by his brothers, Bernard Mosley, Jr., Tyshawn Norman, Quenshawn Harris, Shawn Norman Jr., and Montel Harris; his stepbrother, Laphonzo "Mook"; his sisters, Brinijah, Makennah, and Lanasia Mosley (Nae Nae); his stepsister, Anastasia "Stacie", and his sister-in-law, Ginger Westley-Young.
He is also remembered with loved by his aunts, Lekeisha Norman, Robin Scott ("Boom"), Victoria Cowey (LaToya), and Georgina, and preceded in death by his aunts, Lashawnda Cline (around 1996 or 1997) and Trudi Cline-Davis (2010). His uncles include, Joshua Tinsley, Jericho Tinsley, Joshua Tullar (Jermain), Antwon McNeese, Johnathan Mosley, Yafa Mosley, Lil James, and Shannon Norman Sr.
Nathaniel's life, though far too short, was filled with love, connection, and moments that will be carried forward with tenderness and pride by all who knew him. Nathaniel grew up surrounded by family who loved him deeply. He was known for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the way he always showed up for the people he cared about. Whether he was spending time with family, sharing stories, or simply being present, he made every moment meaningful. He shared a special bond with his close cousins -- Big County, Shamaurie, Byrd, PJ, Dextiney, Garfield, Mia, Brittani, Shannon, Ra'Shaun, Trinity, and Jatari -- each of whome held a meaningful place in his life. He also leaves behind a host of other cousins, and extended family members who loved him dearly and will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
