Michael Wayne
Eubanks
Nov 7, 1966 — Nov 17, 2018
East St. Louis
Michael Wayne Eubanks began his life on November 7,1966 , the fourth of five children. His parents, Robert C. Eubanks and Loretta P. Eubanks (Nee McCarns), both preceded him in death. His brother, Robert Carlton Eubanks, nephews Merrick (Rick) Jackson and Wayne Wallace, Jr. also preceded him in death. Michael passed away on November 17, 2018, quietly at home with his family by his side. Michael professed his faith in Jesus Christ at a very young age and was baptized at the age of three years old. He attended Saint Paul Baptist Church in his youth and was an active member of the youth usher board. Michael was a lifelong resident of East Saint Louis, attending Dunbar elementary school, Hughes Quinn Jr. High school and graduating from Lincoln Sr. High School in 1984.
Michael lived on 17th and McCasland Avenue his entire life. Growing up, he had the most loyal and wonderful friends any person could ever have. Despite his physical limitations, the "McCasland Crew" never made a move without trying to include Michael in their mischief. And Michael loved it. He enjoyed being around his friends and family. He enjoyed traveling around the Metro East and all over the country with his Dad and siblings to visit friends and family. He also enjoyed his Mother's Sunday dinners. He liked when she demanded the entire families' presence each Sunday because it gave him an opportunity to catch them up on family activities. Michael was a serious sports fan. He loved basketball and wrestling and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. His favorite football team was the Denver Bronco's and he would debate anyone from dusk till dawn about the greatness of his team. Naming each player by name, the teams strengths and weaknesses and what the coaches needed to do improve the team. Yes Michael was truly an armchair quarterback for the Bronco's. He also loved playing video games and took up the challenge confidently from anyone who dared take up a joy stick and sit next to him. One of his most joyous activities was taking his nieces and nephews to the St. Louis zoo. He always lit up with happiness when he got a chance to see the animals. Michael also had a notorious sense of humor. He would catch you off guard with a joke followed by a sly smile that let you know he just slipped a slick comment past you. He always said exactly what was on his mind, good or bad. You had to accept him exactly as he was or not accept him at all. He was confident enough with himself that it never mattered to him.
Michael leaves to mourn two sisters, Cheryl Eubanks of East St Louis, Carla Eubanks of Atlanta Georgia, a brother, Swann McGruder of Austin, Texas, and an aunt, R Bell Davis of Los Angeles California. Michael also leaves six nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews and a host of great great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.
