Melvin Lee Taylor was born on May 3, 1951 to Cornelius Hall and TJ Taylor.  She spent the majority of her life living in Arkansas before relocating to Illinois in 1989 .  Shortly after moving to Illinois she married Marvin D. Royal, her husband of 21 years.  She worked in the childcare field up until she retired at age 65.  She loved to cook and do home decorating.  She also loved gospel music. Melvin was a faithful church member of Christian faith and a community humanitarian, helping many kids and homeless in need.

She will be truly missed.  She joins Cornelius Hall, Alfred Holmes and Herbert Holmes who have all went on to be with the Lord.  She departed this life on July 19, 2018.  She leaves behind her husband, Marvin Royal;  ten children, Michael Taylor, Amara Doukoure, Natasha Fofana, Bintou Fofana, Roxsanne Taylor, Kenya Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Gwendolyn Taylor, Pamela Taylor and LawandaDavenport; 35 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
