Melba Ann Edwards was born on March 10, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Douglas Trice, Sr. and Vera Coleman.

Melba grew up and attended school in Lovejoy, IL. She also attended Nursing School and became an LPN. She later became an RMA in 1982. Melba loved to cook and help others in any way she could. Being loving and giving came easy for her. On July, 5, 1997, Melba was wed to the love of her life, Jerry Edwards, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Edwards, Sr.; her daughter, Darla Miller; and sister, Barbara Luckett.

Melba departed this life on January 30, 2023 . She leaves to cherish her memory: her two children, Danita R. Taylor and Evon Taylor, Jr. (Tammy); five siblings, Douglas Trice, Sr. (Phyllis), and Dana Trice; three grandchildren, Dorion Taylor, Taylor Miller and Kyra Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Serenity, Amori, and Elyjah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Louise Robinson, Lily Wright, and Marie Griffin.
