Maurice Northington was born on August 24, 1961 in Cleveland, Mississippi to the late Annie Ruth and Lonnie Northington. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Norvel and Lois Salters and his aunt, Katherine Rogers. The family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized, where he furthered his education and received various certificates while he was there.

Maurice moved back to East St. Louis as a young man. He held down a job doing factory work, detailing cars and food service. He was trained in Culinary and loved to cook. He also loved to read the Bible and spend time with his family. Maurice was an outspoken person and loved playing basketball, dominoes and going to the gym.

Maurice departed this life on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the age of 61 in East St. Louis, IL. He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter; two brothers, William (Yvonne) Northington and Willie (Jolina) Northington; one sister, Bettye (Don) Morris; three special cousins, Willie T. (Daisy) Lee, Margaret Carter and Mary White; special friends, Brownlee Family; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
