Marvin Douglas Martin was born August 6, 1961 in Cook County, IL. to the union of Bishop Percy Marvin and Etha L. Ward. He was the second child born to this union. He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Percy Marvin Martin; his brother, Richard Purvis Martin; sister, Linda Jo Martin, and his brothers-in-law, Danny A. Harris and Vernon Whitener.

Marvin accepted Christ at an early age. He received his education at Lincoln Senior High School in East St. Louis, IL in the early 80's. His life was shortened due to things out of his control. Marvin lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing football. We had hoped that he would have been playing Pro he loved it so much, but life took a turn. He had a host of friends and spent many years of his life in Miami, Florida.

Marvin departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Orlando, Florida. He leaves to cherish his loving mother, Etha L. Ward of Centreville, IL.; his son, Bobby F. Robinson (Ernestine), Etha (Red) Martin; brother, Charles C. Martin of Centreville, IL; sisters, Pastor Marvetta Martin-Harris of Cahokia, IL and Anita Whitener of Texas; grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He also leaves a very close childhood friend that always stayed in touch with our family, David Bomer of Los Angeles, California.
