Marvin Lee King was born on November 19, 1933 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee to Alberta King and Sylvester King.
Marvin attended Dunbar Elementary School and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School. Marvin married Shirley Ward in 1962. Marvin was a good husband and father. He worked and retired from General Motors.
Marvin began studying with Jehovah Witnesses in 1968, and was baptized and became a former member in 1969. Marvin remained a faithful Jehovah Witness since, serving as a teacher, elder, and a Pioneer for 12 years. He loved sharing his faith and knowledge of the Bible and fellowship with his Christian brothers and sisters. Marvin often spoke of how he looked forward to seeing his Christian family in the new world.
Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley King; one son, Marvin Lee King, Jr. of Denver, CO; two daughters, Felicia Graham of Seattle, WA and Marva Crawford of Belleville, IL; one brother, Clifford King of East St. Louis, IL; one sister, Lucille Burrell of East St. Louis, IL, and a host if nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding Marvin in death was his mother, Alberta King, his father, Sylvester King, his two sisters, Martha Gillespie and Marszlar Agnew.
Marvin's favorite scripture is Revelation 21:3-5
