M artha Bee Perry was born on August 24, 1938 in Sunflower, Mississippi to the union of Walter Cherry and Elvira Johnson. In 1942 , the family moved to the metro-east area. She was preceded in death by both parents.
Martha accepted the Lord as her personal savior.
Martha received her early education in East St. Louis Public School District 189. She was united in wedlock to Rufus Perry. Martha loved her family and took her role as a homemaker very seriously. One thing Martha loved to do and that was dance.
Martha was preceded in death by her children, Robert E. Boyd, John Lee Johnson, Noah McGee, Henry Johnson, Dorothy Jean Johnson and Nathaniel Cortez Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbert Moore and Willie Johnson, Sr and her sisters, Mary Ella Austin, Berda Mae Reed, Hurzina Johnson, Jackie Montgomery and Esther Mae Johnson.
In the late evening of Monday, February 3, 2020 , Martha Bee Perry made her transition in Granite City, Illinois. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Beatrice Robinson, Mary Johnson (Wromero) Dones, Kimberly Johnson, Michelle Johnson and Gloria Jean Rivers; her sons, Jay Bonnet Johnson, Melvin Johnson and Rufus Johnson; 3 sisters, Ida Mae Johnson, Willie B. Bertha Johnson and Shirley Ward Johnson; two brothers, Walter Cherry, Jr. and Thomas Johnson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
