Obituary

Mr. Martez Williams was born March 27, 1967, in East Saint Louis, Illinois. Martez married Patresa Harris October 17, 1993, to this union two sons were born, Brandon and Bryant Williams

Martez passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Mae Williams, his sister, Emma Williams, his brother, James Williams, his niece, Marliss Williams, his nephews, Michael Williams, Ramon Williams, and Harold Williams.

Martez confessed his life to Christ at anearly age and was baptized at the Church of Living God under the pastoral leadership of Chief Bishop Rex Waddell. As a member of the Church of Living God, he was active in the men's and marriage ministries.

Martez was educated in the East Saint Louis public school system. He was a graduate of Bolton Senior High School's Class of 1985, Alexandria, Louisiana. After high school, Martez completed the carpentry program at the Atterbury Job Corps Center. He later obtained his electrical service technician certification from Vatterott College and Associate of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University. Martez's skills and passion led him to many opportunities as safety manager, logistics coordinator, and later as plant manager. Until his sudden death, Martez worked for International Paper Company in Belleville, Illinois.

Martez's life was anchored in his family, friends, and his Lincoln High School classmates. He left an indeliable mark on the entire family. His legacy of love and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those he leaves behind. We will remember his smile, infectious laughter, and the countless moments of joy and happiness he shared throughout his life.

Martez is survived by his wife, Patresa Harris-Williams; his two sons, Brandon Harris-Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Bryant Harris-Williams of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Markeisha Williams of Granite City, Illinois; four sisters, 2 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will forever be enriched in our lives with his presence, his love, and his indomitable spirit.
