We honor the life and memory of Martez Heard, who was born on June 11, 1972, and passed away on January 7, 2026. Martez's journey began in the summer of 1972, making the start of a life that would span over five decades. Throughout the years leading to his passing in early 2026, he remained a part of the lives of those around him, leaving behind a legacy of his fifty-three years.

Martez is preceded in death by his mother, Brinda Johnson. He leaves behind his only siblings Christopher Heard but is as a brother to many. As we reflect on Martez's life, we hold his memory with dignity and respect. He was a truck driver for over 3 decades and he was also a member of the Sigma Beta Club of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Martez has hundreds of friends that hold him close and will be remembered for the time he shared with us and the unique path he walked from his first days to his last. Though he is no longer with us, the story of his life remains a cherished part of the history of those who knew him.
