Lily Maria Cook was born on November 9, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Saint Louis Infirmary Hospital to the union of Eddie and Carolyn Cook, who both preceded her in death.

Lily was the last child of three children. She was fondly known as the family, "Nanny."

Lily attended the East St. Louis Public School District #189. She graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1980.

Lily always had a love for kids. She helped raise two sets of twins, her niece Vivica, three nephews and cousins. Lily was a kind, generous, loving person and a joy to be around.

Lily departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Collinsville, Illinois surrounded by family. Lily leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Rhonda (James) Jefferson from East St. Louis, IL; one brother, Eddie (Linda) Cook, Jr. from St. Louis, MO; three nephews, LaMarcus, Demetrius, and Antoine; two nieces, Kenyatta and Vivica; four aunts, Janet (Basis) Williams of Caseyville, IL, Muriel (Michael) Williams of Cahokia, IL, Pamela Ducksworth and Denise Ducksworth both of East St. Louis, IL; two uncles, Erickson (Carolyn) Ducksworth Sr. and Daryl (Johnnie Mae) Ducksworth both of East St. Louis, IL; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

Lily will always be in our hearts and missed tremendously.
