Leroy Bell, son of the late George Washington Bell and Maggie Sue Bell, was born on June 25, 1951,
in East St. Louis, IL. He attended the public schools of School District 189 and was a graduate of East Saint Louis Senior High School in East St. Louis, IL. Once he graduated, he began his journey of an adult life.

On January 3, 1975 he welcomed the birth of his first child George Curtis Stewart with Deborah Stewart. On July 10, 1987 he welcomed the birth of his daughter Marissa Shiana Johnson with Janet Carol Mack.

Leroy loved music, wrestling and barbequing. He was a kind and caring man who was forever changed due to his addiction to alcohol.


Leroy quietly transitioned on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in his home. He was
preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Bell and Maggie Sue Bell
his sisters, Maureen Hilson and Delora Holmon, and his brother George "Bootsy" Bell, Jr.

He will forever be cherished by his son and daughter, George Curtis Stewart and Marissa Shiana Johnson; step son Antonio Darvel Johnson Sr.; two brothers - Bob Johnson, Isiah Johnson; three
sisters - Elese (Richard) Dillard, Brizell Harmon, Deborah Bell; and a
host of nephews, nieces, cousins, a sister-in-law, and friends. A special thank you to James Ernest and the children of Connie Booker.
