Obituary

Lawrence Williams was born on October 20, 1971 to Amos and Carrie Williams in East St. Louis, IL. He attended school in District 189 and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1991. He is preceded in death by his eldest brothers Matthews Williams and Terrence Williams, grandmother Louanner Robertson, grandfather Moses Robertson, two uncles James Robertson and Roosevelt Pirtle.

Lawrence worked for the Goodwill Incorporation of St. Louis, MO for many years following employment in housekeeping at the Adam's Mark Hotel for ten years. He entered fatherhood and welcomed two daughters Toneisha Cage on January 28, 1994 and Lyra Williams on February 16, 2005 and became a gradnfather of two grandchildren, a grandson Ka'Morian Cage on May 21, 2011 and a granddaughter Ka'Mori Trimble on January 27, 2019.

A devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Lawrence possessed a passionate personality who got along with everyone. He was a member of Union Full Gospel Baptist Church. He loved small children and shared a close bond with his parents. Lawrence valued the love and connection of family and would help anyone in need. Lawrence was one who didn't speak much but also wasn't afraid to voice his opinion when asked. A home-body at heart, he enjoyed listening to music as well as watching and collecting movies.

The youngest child of seven, he suffered silently for many years of illness and never once complained. He was such a beautiful spirit whose memory will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Lawrence Williams departed this life on October 19, 2020. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents Amos and Carrie Williams of East St. Louis, IL; daughters Toneisha Cage of Collinsville, IL and Lyra Williams of Belleville, IL; two grandchildren Ka'Morian Cage and Ka'Mori Trimble of Collinsville, IL; one brother Michael Williams of Madison, IL; three sisters Margie Donaby of Las Vegas, NV, Carol Juniel of Belleville, IL and Linette Bacon of Jacksonville, IL; he is also survived by two uncles Clarence Robertson of East St. Louis, IL and Leslie Robertson of Jackson, TN, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
