Obituary

On May 11, 1982, Michael & Marlene Whitfield brought a beautiful baby girl into the world.  They named her Latoya Michole.  She was baby #5, the biggest of them all, a baby that was known to not smile and to be tough.  Her grandfather lovingly called her Big'un.  It was clear early on that Big'un was tough and she was strong.  This being validated by her favorite cousins, Mark and David who coined her as Motorcycle T and T Baby.  While blossoming into a woman, she enjoyed being "rough around the edges" but still exuded a beauty, class & intelligence that was greatly admired by those who knew her.

Latoya graduated from Cahokia High School and furthered her education at Prairie View University, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in 2007.  She was employed by World Wide Technologies, where she worked diligently in the Human Resources Department.  Her co-workers spoke fondly of her fun and cool personality.

On August 30, 2013, Latoya brought life into the world, in the form of a beautiful baby boy, named Landon Watts, who she couldn't deny if she wanted to, because of their strong resemblance and smiles.  He was her most valuable possession.  She loved her family deeply and would express it through her loyalty and big heart.  She had a special bond with her siblings, nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "Teet" & TT Dueces".  Great debates, family dinners, laughing and playing games were some of the things she loved indulging in, with the people she loved.

That toughness that she possessed as a little girl, was the same toughness that she used as a woman, to get through some of her roughest days.  She never gave up and fought until the end.  She continued to rely on her faith to make it through.  The best decision she could have ever made was when she dedicated her life to God in the Fall of 2011.  We know that Heaven is where her eternity lies.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories to her only son, Landon Watts and her loving parents, Michael & Marlene Whitfield, who have never left her side.  Her grandmothers, Elizabeth Pinkey Beverly & Evelyn Whitfield.  Her loving siblings, Andrea (Joseph) Robinson, Wanakee (Martin) Strickland, Shonda (Chris) Morrow, Pasha (DaJauta) Thompson, Michael (Ciera) Whitfield and Taji Perry.  Her special nieces & nephews,J'Len, Jordan, Dallyn, Peyton, Mason, Paxten, Skye & Noah.  Her special friend, NyGuyen Watts and the Watts family;  eight special aunts;  7 special uncles and a host of other special relatives and friends.
