Lamont Phillips was born on March 20, 1979 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Charles Phillips and Grenada Burns-Phillips. The family moved to East St. Louis in 1982. He confessed a hope in Christ in 1985.

Lamont was a good cook and loved to fish. He is preceded in death by his mother Grenada Burns-Phillips; his sister, Brennett Phillips; brother-in-law Mickel Chalmers.

Lamont departed this life on April 14, 2022 . He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Lamont Loston, Leontae Loston, Domonique Phillips, and Jaylen Lamont Phillips; siblings, Charles Phillips, Bennett Phillips, Patricia Phillips, Shirley Phillips, and Kimberly Phillips; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; a special friend Tamiko Taylor.
