Khalil El-Amin (Albert Crockett Jr.) was born March 20, 1949 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the union of Sarah Lewis-Crockett & Albert Crockett Sr.
He departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Khalil was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Crawford-El-Amin and his father, the late Reverend Albert Crockett Sr.
Khalil confessed his life early as a Baptist and converted to the Nation of Islam under the teaching of Imam W. Deen Muhamaud. He attended Rock Jr. High, East Saint Louis Senior High. He went to trade schools where he adapted the skills of an electrician, carpentry, plumbing, and construction. And was taught by master electrician Brother Mumin, and Brother Walli, Imam Ansari. Shortly after he married Lillian Crawford-El-Amin. Nine children were conceived to this union, two daughters and seven sons.
Khalil was a member of the local 100 as a construction worker 7 licensed asbestos remover. He was well established his own personal business entitled, "El-Amin's Electrician."
Khalil was an avid community leader where he dedicated a lot of time helping and assisting people within his community with resources and jobs.
He went into the local schools along with his fellow Islamic brothers, brother Askia, brother Nabawi, and brother Hassan who taught black history to youth within School District #189 in the early 80's. He served as Precinct Committeeman as well as a Prison Chaplin.
He served as a board member and Treasurer for School District #189. He served as a member of SWIDA. Khalil created a great legacy through hard work, determination, and dedication.
Khalil leaves to cherish his mother, Sarah Crockett; daughters, Kenyea El-Amin, Ameenah El-Amin; sons, Anthony El-Amin, Haneef El-Amin, Kamal El-Amin, Jawad El-Amin, Tariq El-Amin, Faheem El-Amin, Quadree El-Amin; daughters-in-law, Wahlidah El-Amin, Portia El-Amin; son-in-law, John Doss Jr.; ten grandchildren, Mahlik El-Amin, Taylor Bradley, Kamajah El-Amin, Raheem Doss, Xavier Collins, Ajahnay Doss, Paris El-Amin, Kamal El-Amin Jr., Kamoriah El-Amin, Jace El-Amin; sisters, Barbara Skinner, Helen Crockett, Corliss Renae Crockett, Linda Walson, Regina Rush, Lorene Crockett, Amanda Spearman, Tiny Spearman Storky; brothers, Greg Crockett, Ronald Crockett, William Curtis Crawford; great grandchildren, Lundyn Collins, Zion Collins and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones who will miss him dearly.
