Kenneth L.
Lindsey
Jun 11, 1956 — Jul 26, 2026
Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Lindsey was born on June 11, 1956, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, to the loving union of Mary Pinkins-Lindsey and Dan Lindsey Jr., both of whom preceded him in death. Kenny was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Lindsey; his brothers, James Hobbs, Leroy Lindsey, Allen Lindsey, and Charles Lindsey; his sisters, Isabell Lindsey and Jacqueline Smith.
Kenny was raised in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and attended schools within the Henry Weathers School District. In 1970, he relocated to East St. Louis, Illinois, where he began working as a maintenance worker at the St. Louis Arena. He was later employed by 360 Brake Service in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1983, Kenny began working side by side with his brother, the late James Hobbs, owner of 360 Brake Service in East St. Louis, Illinois. Kenny was a highly skilled automotive brake specialist. If no one else could fix your brakes, Kenny was the person to call. Although brakes were his specialty, he was also talented in many other areas of automotive repair. He worked faithfully at 360 Brake Service until his health no longer allowed him to continue.
Kenny was truly the life of every party and loved to dance. He treasure spending time with his family. Whether they were playing cards, enjoying a drink or a smoke, or simply sitting together laughing and having fun, time spent with Kenny was always filled with joy.
One of his favorite pastimes was watching his beloved baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, with his sons, brothers, and nephews. Even when they were hundreds of miles apart and living in different states, it felt as if though they were all in the same room, cheering together for their favorite team.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory the love of his life, Barbara Jean Anderson of East St. Louis, Illinois; his son, Traveyon Lindsey; two grandchildren, A'Nyla Wilson and Traveyon Lindsey Jr. of East St. Louis, Illinois; two daughters, Trenika Shaw of East St. Louis, Illinois and Jasmine McGary of Cahokia Heights, Illinois; a very special niece, Debra Thomas of Cahokia Heights, Illinois; and a very special nephew whom he loved as a son, Dartanian Smith; three sisters, Queen Esther Savannah, Gail Lindsey of Cahokia Heights, Illinois, and Deloris Lindsey of Belleville, Illinois; two brothers, Danny (Charlene) Lindsey of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and Bernard (Terri) Lindsey of St. Louis, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Bertha Lindsey and Tina Lindsey of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, Ms. Loretha Bobbs of O'Fallon, Illinois, and Cathy Luster of Fairview Heights, Illinois; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Kenny will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and beautiful memories he shared will remain in our hearts forever.
