Kenbalo
Logan
Mar 23, 1972 — Sep 30, 2025
Celebrating the Art of how he Lived So Well. Kenbalo Logan was a humble individual who valued life and appreciated its simple pleasures. He approached life with gratitude, worked diligently, and earned all that he possessed through perseverance. His influence touched many, evident in the ways we have loved, shared, and pursued our respective paths.
Born on March 23, 1972, Mr. Logan was raised in Centreville and East St. Louis, Illinois. Affectionately known as "Balo" in his youth and "KB" in adulthood, he accepted Christ during his teenage years under the guidance of Pastor Terry Harris Sr. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Logan received his education within the Catholic School System of East St. Louis, attending Thea Bowman, St. Martin, and Assumption High Schools, where he participated in both offensive and defensive football teams. On May 24, 2025, he renewed his faith after reading Zephaniah 3:17
Mr. Logan was a passionate supporter of the New York Giants and an avid fisherman, enjoying the sport from Herrington Lake to the Mississippi River. While not professionally trained as a chef, he was highly regarded for his culinary abilities. Additionally, he excelled as an auto technician.
Following a brief encounter with the law, Mr. Logan expressed deep gratitude toward Mr. Reuben McKinney for affording him the opportunity to work at Dobbs Tire and Auto in St. Louis, Missouri. There, he began developing his leadership and management skills, eventually being promoted to lead mechanic at Dobbs in Shiloh, Illinois. Subsequently, he pursued truck driving school and obtained his Commercial Driver License (CDL) through Ru Trucking, LLC.
Demonstrating strong work ethics and ambition, Mr. Logan transitioned from over-the-road and local driving to operating heavy equipment. His career included numerous commendations and managerial roles at Waste Management, K&D Trucking, Endurance Environmental, and as a heavy machine boom operator. He dedicated two decades to these positions.
In 2024, Mr. Logan accepted a role as a heavy machine operator with MBI Trucking Management, where he passed away. In his final conversation with his mother, he affirmed his commitment to hard work, remarking that it defined his life.
Mr. Logan's faith was a guiding force; he departed from this earth on September 30, 2025. He is predeceased in death by his son, Kenyon Logan Sr., father, Kenneth B. Logan Sr., sister, Zeretta Pratcher, and grandparents, Tommie and Dorothy Sharp, Willie Logan and Geneva Jackson, and Harvey and Edna Jones Sr.
