Keanna G.
Jefferson
Aug 6, 1987 — Dec 14, 2025
Ms. Keanna Geralyn Jefferson was born on August 6, 1987, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was the cherished fourth of five children born into a family bound by love. Siblings: Kimoni Vonzell, Kendrick Gaylen, Kyra VanYeal, and Keri Valencia. Keanna was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Kathleen Vinette-Jefferson, whom she is joyfully reunited with in Heaven. Her father is Kerry Vinette.
From the moment she entered this world, Keanna embodied both love and strength. Born with spina bifida, she faced life with courage far beyond her years. Time and time again, she defied the odds with remarkable grace, resilience, and unwavering determination. Though her body was often tested, her spirit never wavered. Keanna was, without question, one of the strongest souls we have ever known.
At a young age, Keanna made the life-changing decision to give her life to Christ. Her faith remained a source of comfort and strength throughout her years. She was deeply loved and nurtured by her devoted godparents, Patricia Harrison and Jerry Miller, who forever hold a special place in her life story.
Keanna lived in several places throughout her life, including Texas, where she graduated high school in 2006, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Illinois. No matter where she resided, she left a lasting impression--her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and infectious joy touched everyone she encountered.
Keanna found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching her favorite television shows and connecting with her "show buddies" to laugh, debate, and share the experience together. She adored music, cherished time with her family, and had a special fondness for chocolate--any kind. Her quick wit, charm, and laughter embodied her daily. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy; she lovingly called them all "her babies," blessing each one with a special nickname that they will forever treasure.
On Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by her dear family, Keanna stepped into God's loving embrace and found perfect rest. After countless surgeries, years of fighting with quiet bravery, her earthly battle came to an end. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is now whole, healed, and at peace.
Keanna will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her light, her laughter, and her unbreakable spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
