Kathleen
Vinette
Jan 10, 1956 — Jan 22, 2021
Kathleen "Kathy" (Jefferson) Vinette was born on January 10, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri. On the morning of January 22, 2021, God called Kathy home to join her friends and family who proceeded her in death (including her parents Marilyn & Arthur Jefferson Sr., her grandparents, siblings - Arthur Jefferson Jr., Victoria Jefferson Wilbourn, her Godparents Willie & Elouise Miles, and a few dear friends).
During her life she attended St. Theresa's Academy and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East St. Louis. Many around the city of East St. Louis will always remember her fun-loving nature, sense of humor, and generous spirit from Bond Ave Fish Market and Rainbow Liquor and Bait Shop. She devoted most of her time and energy to being a mother and care-giver to her children, and later to being Memaw to her grandchildren. Her interests included crafting, travelling, antique "junking". Her sass, charm and smile were the spice of life that would bring a unique flavor to any room. Kathy built friendships that evolved into extended family for herself and her children. Kathy loved to visit with family both near and far.
Kathy's life led her to Blytheville, Arkansas, New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas where she undoubtedly left a lasting impression. In recent years she returned home to her beloved East St. Louis near those who loved her most.
Kathy's legacy will live on in her children: Kimoni, Kendrick (Connie), Kyra, Keanna and Keri as well as her grandchildren Sean, Rodney Jr, Trayveon, Kaylen, Kamari, Riley, Klarque, Sincere, JaSean, Kahlee, and Kyhlee who affectionately called her "MeMaw."
She will lovingly be remembered by her siblings: Barbara (Jerry) Guyton, Mary (Billy) Perkins, Greg (Denise), and David, nieces and nephews, her God-Family the Miles', her favorite uncle Stephen, her dearest cousin Betty Lou Newbill, cousins and friends.
