John L. Johnson Jr. (Mayne) was born April 25, 1973 to the union of John L. Johnson Sr. and Felicia Reeves-Farmer in the city of East St. Louis, Illinois. John was the second child of three.

John accepted Christ at an early age as his personal Savior in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from East St. Louis Sr. High School in 1992. During his life, John was employed with several companies in the St. Louis metropolitan area, ABM (Spann), Casino Queen, and International Paper.

John moved with his loving wife to Bixby, Oklahoma in 2010 where he was currently employed at Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA). John found his passion in the airline industry, working his way to Supervisor of the Mechanic Department at QAA before his passing. He was very proud of the team he built. No matter the employer John was loved by so many. He was everyone's protector and everyone's BIG TEDDY BEAR.

John was a loving husband, father, brother, friends, cousin, uncle, nephew, that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. John was generous and loving to all, embracing everyone as his family. John wore his heart on his sleeve and gave his love unconditionally, while letting his smile and laughter fill the room with joy.

John loved to travel, but most of all John loved to cook. John would cook a feast for any friends and family that visited his home. He would enjoy good food, good music, good drinks, and a FIERCE game of Spades. The house would be filled with love and laughter, and maybe a Wobble or two. This was when he was the happiest.

John departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

Mr. John Johnson leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Typhani Wright, three children, Kenay Johnson of Tampa, FL, Jarmesha Rickmon of East St. Louis, IL, and Leslie Rickmon of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Tyron, Gabriel, Prince, Isabel, and Deontae'; mother Felicia (Kenneth) Farmer of Belleville, IL; father John (Patricia) L. Johnson Sr. of Belleville, IL; sister Tandra L. Johnson, Fairview Heights, IL, brother DeCarlo (Demetra) Johnson, stepbrother Kenneth (Laura) Smith; three aunts and three uncles and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
