Mr. Joel L. Scott was loaned to the union of Jack and Linetta Cotton on Monday, October 26, 1970 in Centreville, IL.

Joel received his formal education at Park Alternative High School in Centreville, IL. Joel accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Full Gospel Miracle Temple.

Joel was a true sports fanatic. He could truly get down with all sports but football was his favorite. Joel fought a good fight and kept the faith through it all. Joel didn't believe he would live to see 45. Our Eternal God loaned him to us for an additional 7 years.

Joel graduated to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the age of 52. Joel will join hands and reunite with his four sisters, Bridget Wingate, Renee, Meme and Pamela Cotton, two brothers Fredrick and Rodney.

Joel leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Joe Nathan, Tyrone, Gary Wingate and Dude Cotton, all of East St. Louis, IL; two aunts, MaryAnn (Pierre) Floore, Carla Dunn; one uncle Daryl Dunn, all of East St. Louis, IL; great aunt, Genola Gaddis; special cousins just to name a few, E'Mond Shepherd of Venice, IL, Maurice (Stacey) Clark of Belleville, Larry Clark of Indiana; a few nieces and nephews, Latoya, Britney, Vincent Jackson, Jahnelle Tillman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
