Obituary

Joe Nathan Byrum was born on January 17, 1956 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the union of Robert Byrum Sr. and Dora (Transou) Byrum.

Joe attended Cahokia High School in Cahokia Heights, IL. Joe was very talented in automobile collision repair, he specialized in coating, body molding, protective coating, and basecoat technology. He was known for his skill for city to city.

Joe was also known for his smile, and his contagious jolly laugh whenever he saw you. He never greeted you with a frown, and always made you feel welcomed. To know Joe was to love him.

On February 6, 2022, Joe was called home to be with his lord and savior. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Sr. and mother Dora Byrum and his two brothers Wyatt Byrum, Ray Byrum, and his son Rahmahjae Rodgers.

Joe leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Nesheosha Byrum of 29 years of Belleville, IL 62226; his 10 children he adored starting with the eldest Shanika Cleveland-Byrum of O'Fallon, IL, Devonjae Rodgers-Byrum of Belleville, IL, Joe Nathan Byrum Jr. of Cahokia, IL, Deonta Byrum of Fort Benning, GA, Mesheosha Byrum of Belleville, IL, Robert Byrum of Belleville, IL, Annie Byrum of Belleville, IL, Joseph Byrum of Belleville, IL, and Marvin Byrum of Belleville, IL; and a loving mother-in-law Mary Rodgers Owens. He also leaves to cherish his siblings, Sie Byrum of Centreville, IL, Robert (Joyce) Lee Byrum of Fairview Heights, IL, Elma Johnson of Swansea, IL, Clarence (Latifah) Byrum of Centreville, IL, Dora (Thomas) Gantt of Centreville, IL, Dale Byrum of Centreville, IL, Denise (Johnny) Phipps of Centreville, IL, Lawanda (Damien) Byrum-Phillips of Centreville, IL, sister-in-law, Toi (Dorian) Jones of St. Louis, MO, sister-in-law Yumeka Rodgers of O'Fallon, IL, brother-in-law Deonta (Janet) Rodgers of Belleville, IL sister-in-law Nikeba (Thomas) Jones of Belleville, IL, a special sister Donyelle Brown, a special aunt Annie Dones, special cousins Rosalind Rodgers and Santosh Dones and his loving grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and held close to his heart. They will miss their dear Pop-Pop so much. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of family. He will be missed as a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. We love you Joe always.
