Joan Ann Evans, affectionately known as Joann of Madison, IL was born April 1,1954 in St. Louis, MO to Clarence Evans and Fredonia Wright. She gained her wings Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at home with her daughter and twin by her side after her fight with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her son Bennie C. Davis; her sister and two brothers.
Joan received her education from Madison County School District 12. For more than 30 years, she worked for different companies as a custodian. But mainly for Busch Stadium, where she gained a host of friends and extend family.
Joan became a born again Christian on March 11, 1979 under the leadership of Bishop John H. Green and again on February 28, 1997. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Congregational Church both times where she served in the Young Adult and Adult choir, on the usher board, on the hospitality committee, on the Youth Department , as a Missionary and anywhere else she could help out.
Joan was known to be friendly, loving, and understanding to people whether family or not. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her twin. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and didn't mind playing a game or two of softball with family and friends. But her main focus was serving God.
Joan leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Michelle Evans of Madison, IL; two sons Anthony Evans and Albert ( Jill ) Eastling both of Madison, IL; three brothers, Johnnie Evans of Madison, IL, Clarence (Sheila) Evans of Alton, IL, and Larry ( Joann) Evans of Belleville, IL; three sisters, Marthia ( James) Redmond of Denver, CO, (Twin) Jean ( Billy) Dixon of Venice, IL, and Diane Turner of Madison, IL; a Godson, Donnell Jordan III of O'fallon, IL; a sister-in-law, Verna Evans of St. Louis, MO; an Aunt, Aunt Lula Ford of Edwardsville, IL; 25 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends with two great-grandchildren on the way.
