The Great Jim Henry Cary , affectionately known as "Big John" was born on May 4, 1948 in Money Mississippi to Paul Cary and Mary Lee Cary. He was preceded in death by both parents; his secondary mother, Viola Cary; siblings, Jessie Span and Emma Jean Span; granddaughters, Moesha January and Christal Davis.
John confessed his life to Christ in 1980. John attended Amanda Elise School in Money, Mississippi. John's occupation was construction. He loved working with his hands and had a passion for cars and automotive work.
He was a charming person. All he had to do was smile and just like that he made a friend. John was a great husband, father, and grandfather. What he loved most was being surrounded by family. He loved helping his family and friends in their time of need. He was very reliable and always there when you needed him. His favorite quote was "As long as my family ok. I am okay." Family was important to him.
John and Wardine shared a union for over forty-seven years. This love story has had obstacles and faced challenges, but was able to weather the storm because of fate; best friends, husband and wife, and then soulmates.
John departed this life on July 15, 2021 . John leaves to cherish his memory: his wife ~ Wardine Cary; three brothers ~Walter, Sonny and Willie Ray Cary; his sister ~ Patricia Cary; eight sons ~ Henry Cary Jr. (Serena), Walter Cary, Gerome (Jessica) Davis, Raymond (Bethany) Davis, Omar Wofford, Corey Wofford, Shawn Gouden and Donell Walker; eight daughters ~ Mary Cary, Carlon Cary, Targice Harrison, Christy, Tyson and Youlanda Davis, Ashley (William) Nicholson and Dekitris Wofford; forty amazing grandchildren and sixteen precious great-grandchildren; one special nephew ~ Christopher Davis; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
